Short: Write binary files using AMIGADOS. Author: wisecracker@tesco.net (Barry Walker) Uploader: wisecracker tesco net (Barry Walker) Type: dev/src Version: 0.00.10 Architecture: generic; m68k-amigaos Distribution: Public Domain, Emailware. ============================================================================ Architectures: Classic AMIGAs, E-UAE and WinUAE. ------------------------------------------------ MINIMUM Requirements Are:- -------------------------- 68EC020 CPU and 2MB RAM total, example, a standard A1200(HD). WinUAE Version 1.5.3 minimum. Standard OS3.0x install or better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- History. -------- 01-03-2013. Version 0.00.10:- Original upload to AMINET... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To install just download the "Binary_Write.shell.txt" file and rename it to "Binary_Write.shell" without the quotes. Drag this file into the C: volume and... From a Shell prompt inside the C: volume:- Some Prompt> execute Binary_Write.shell And away you go... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is just a simple DEMO to show how to generate four simple binary files using a default AMIGA OS 3.0x minimum on a stock AMIGA A1200(HD). (This is not tested on AMIGA OS 2.0x but may still work.) The first is a 256 byte file of all the bytes from decimal 255 down to 0. It is saved to the T: volume as T:BINARY.FILE and will be lost unless you drag it somewhere else if the power is turned off. The other three are saved as CLS, BEEP and BOTH inside the C: volume. CLS and BEEP are 1 byte in size and BOTH is 2 bytes in size. They are useful as an error beep and a simple clear screen file. They are used as:- Some Prompt> Type C:CLS Some Prompt> Type C:BEEP For a clear screen or a beep as an example... Some Prompt> Type C:BOTH Gives a beep first followed by a clear screen in one command... I have no idea what strange configuration setups will create so refer to the ~The Legal Stuff~ above. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact:- --------- Mr Barry Walker, G0LCU.
