Short: Amiga port of ScummVM 2.5.1 (68060) Author: NovaCoder Uploader: novacoder yahoo co uk Type: game/misc Version: 2.5.1.40 Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.1.0 Distribution: Aminet Overview: ScummVM is an interpreter that allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games on an Amiga (provided you have their data files). The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed! This Amiga ScummVM port only supports certain ScummVM game engines (see the About Box within the ScummVM Launcher). Requirements: 1) An AGA Amiga (PAL only). 2) 68060 processor or better. 3) AHI installed and configured. 4) CAMD library installed and configured. 5) The original games (or demos). Features: * Double buffered 16-bit SFX and speech * Double buffered 8-bit graphics * External MIDI support (using the CAMD library) * 16-bit GUI (converted to 8-bit in real-time!) * Screen shake (shake it baby) * Back ported OS4, MorphOS and AROS code * Compressed music support Configuration: You can manually add the following to your own INI file: The 'mixer_priority' configuration option can be used set the mixer thread priority (default is 1). The 'output_rate' configuration option can be used set the mixer frequency (default is 11025). There are various configuration options within the ScummVM Launcher (see the official ScummVM readme for more details). When running from the Shell you must specify a stack of at least 300,000. You will need to install the CAMD library if you want to use an external MIDI device. Performance Considerations: 1) Fast File System is actually not, use PFS3 instead. 2) Playing compressed audio or video on a real 68k CPU will be very slow. 3) Use v4.18 of AHI as the later versions are too slow. 4) If you are using Paula try the 'FAST' audio AHI modes. 5) Try reducing the audio playback frequency down to 11k if you're still having performance issues. 6) Image scaling will add an additional overhead, this includes enabling aspect ratio correction. 7) You can set your global settings to use a 2x scaler and enable aspect ratio correction for a higher resolution launcher and then set each game to override the global settings with a 1x scaler and no aspect ratio correction. Limitations: 1) FLAC compressed files are not supported. 2) Only specific 'AGA 68k friendly' game engines are supported. 3) Only specific 'AGA 68k friendly' video codecs are supported.
